It wouldn't be very good as that card is only a replacement for the GF4 MX range.

Since Im all about replying to posts Wiggo replied to and rehashing the same info tonight........ :)

Check out my benches, they're pretty much the "Bought my system last year and now I have a mid-range computer" scores, as the TOP OF THE LINE computer just hit 30k on 3dmark2001

So if you got over my benchs, id say you're doing pretty good, as I can play Need for Speed Underground and Max Payne 2 and medium-high setting with good FPS.

Im gonna guess though that your video card is gonna really hamper your performance. I really wish nVidia would start labeling those 5200 cards with *Warning: This card sucks, no really, dont buy it, go ATI" on it ;)

Well, this is the only time I have dealt with a fx5200, and the last. You see, I have ethics. I built a computer for this guy and after a week, his buddys convinced him to do an exchange with me and pay $60 extra for a fx5200 128mb "since it is agp 8x and dx9, it would be twice as fast(100% faster) as the r9000pro 64mb he got from me for $95" is what they told him. lol. This guy first wanted onboard gfx, so that shows what he knows.

I warned him this would be a bad choice because 8x agp is a farse and that card is too slow to use dx9 anyway. A few days later he tried saying that I did not install it right since most of his games were unplayable. I had to go to his place and remove and reinstall the det drivers while he watched to prove to him he made a big blunder, not me, then turned off all the eye candy. My supplier wound not do another exchange of course, they even discouraged the first swap for obvious reasons.

The attached pic is before and after, light grey being the r9000pro. All other hardware is unchanged. The scores would have been way farther apart if it wasn't for the high poligon count single light score. HARDWARE... xp2400, 512 pc2700, wd 80gb 7200, sb live.

I keep tellin' ppl myself that if they want a budget card to get no less than a GF4 Ti4200 but if ya want DX9 support then get a FX5700U or R9600P/XT (I'm just amazed at how gullible some ppl are and very few will ask 1st b4 buyin').

O.K., O.K, ....those of us who own FX5200's get the picture! I would have loved to put a GF4 ti4200 in my system but for the price difference (approx $100 CAD) I had no way to do that at the time. I did the research and bought the best Nvidia card I could with the money available at the time . I have no regrets yet ... it does everything I need it to do for now and when I find a good deal on a better card and have the money I'll upgrade.

Poor stocky21 just asked for benchmark comparisons and all he gets is harassment about his choice of cards.

R9600P/XT!! In my dreams maybe!! Sorry Wiggo but give those of us on a budget a break .... sometimes food and shelter come before video cards (unfortunately).

Anyways for stocky21 here are my pathetic scores with the unit in my sig.:

    GLExcess - 10346
    3DMark 2001SE - 5195
    PCMark04 - 2435
    AquaMark3 - 8234 total
    Antec 900 case (4 120mm and 1 200mm lighted fans + UFO flashing light set + 2 12" and 1 6" Mutant Mods meteor lights) - Aerogate ll thermal controller - Asus M2N-e SLI - AMD 64 X2 AM2 6400+ - Corsair TX650 PSU - MSI 450GTS Cyclone OC - 2 X 2GB Patriot Extreme Performance PC2 6400 RAM - SATA 320 GB Seagate HD, SATA 300GB Maxtor HD and IDE 80 GB Samsung HD - Floppy Drive/Card Reader Combo - LG SuperMulti Lightscribe 18x DVD RW - Plextor PX-716A DVD r/rw - Windows 7 Home Premium 64

Crude but Effective ... it is a way of life.
