i am getting very poor overclocking results with ati radeon 9600pro. my current settings are only 489 core clock, and 330 memory, and i am already getting some visual corruption.

    My comp:
    P4 2.4 ghz
    512mb mem
    ATI Radeon 9600 Pro
    Omega Catalyst 3.9 drivers.
    directx 9b
    AGP 4X

does anyone have any suggestions as to why the performance is so bad?

If it's got Compaq equipment inside it, then yes. :)

Yes those small mini-towers are nearly as bad as desktop cases. The under rated PSU probably wouldn't help either.

A cooler won't help at all unless ya get a case with good airflow 1st and then ya'd likely not need the cooler.

Your best bet: Punch a hole in the side of the case right next to the AGP slot and put an 80mm fan there to deliver nice cool air right to your card. Then you'll probably get some major o/cing going on :thumb: . My :2cents: , : peace2: Mista K6
