Win2K is an enterprise os so yes I'd change to WinXP as that will likely improve things a lot.

Is it not a possibility that the motherboard was damaged somehow, resulting in the slower-than-normal performance?

Although I do agree that drivers are a more likely culprit in this instance.

Do you have the newest drivers for everything? Video card? Motherboard? Sound card? Monitor? Windows? Make sure you have those, then try it again.

yeah ive had this problem before. are you sure your motherboards agp drivers are installed? your computer should have come with a drivers disk for your mobo. after you install the agp drivers you should be able to change the agp rate to 8x in display properties. hope this helps

I'm getting a P4P800 Deluxe motherboard for my system...similar mobo to yours, and if that's the problem with your performance dips, perhaps it won't be much different for me. Bleh, I'll find out.

Oh, and 12000 is a pretty good score for 3DMark 2001 on a 9500 Pro. I have a 9800 Pro, and I get 13500 right now (though it'll go up a bit with the new mobo).

The P4P800 Deluxe doesnt have any known issues with Video Card performance, I know a TT member named Soulburner topped 20k in 3D Mark 2001SE with one.

Also, he should be getting more than 12,000 as you should be getting 15,000 or so too though
