My current mobo is old, a Gigabyte M650 chipset, which doesn't support AGP 8x, doesn't have dual channel, doesn't support hyper-threading...in fact, apparently I'm lucky to be getting the scores I have. ;)

Could be limiting performance...try enabling it, if possible. Of course, if it's already on, then I doubt that's the problem.

it isnt on... its just that i have single channel on at the moment (one 512 stick) and could that be limiting the performance??

Hmm, could be. This isn't my strongest field, so I'd wait for more replies...but I now that I think about it, that's probably not the problem. Perhaps you should get the mainboard replaced and see if it fixes the problem. The store should give you a new one if you ask.

For me, daul channel only increased about 1000 on 3dmark01. When you reformat to WinXp, make sure to install the motherboard's chipset before installing anything else. Because that was my case when i had my ti4400.

Actually I'd install the sp1 before any drivers.

    I score just over 17.000 with my sig at 11,5 x 200 - 2300Mhz
    The Radeon at stock though.
