    I just bought a 5900xt and is unbelievable. You can also oc it up to the 5900 ultra's speed. As long as its got decent cooling. so it BLOWS away any 5700 Ultra.(PERIOD!)

    I like the analogy I heard the other day, it may help people have a more clear understanding of core speed vs. RAM and bit set.


    Chip speed is like the top speed of your car and RAM and bit set is like the number of lanes on the highway. You can have a Ferrari but if your stuck in a traffic jam on a two lane highway, your f@#$!@# fast car is no good to you; the Honda on the eightlane highway that is running at a consistant rate will get to its destination faster than the Ferrari that's stuck in traffic

    5950 is a good chip set by any measure
    k6-2 .and . . . AMD 64bit|3.2,1G[2326],9800xt [both died] miss my 500 K's
    recycled from the trash [and in use]
    2 = 945G chipset boards 2G Celeron and dual Pentium
    3 = AM-37 FIK motherboards 2-2.6 G
    in storage 810/815 chipset P3's 800MHZ[4setup and +? not]

    lets say we give it a crap set of memory..that are slower then a consipated ass...i doubt it would be fast..

    well then thats like a crappy highway, full of pot holes. odds are you will crash and burn, or at very least tear the hell out of your suspension :wink:
