I've just been told that I can get the 9800XT (and then the latest ATI card [9900?] whenever it's released).

My question: which brand should I get? Or does it matter? ATI, Sapphire, etc?

I won't really be overclocking the card or anything like that, so I'm not really worried about which brand is better to oc. I just want to know the best one to get.

    TIA!

Nevermind, I went ahead and picked up the ATI brand.

That was a good choice. The ATi ones aren't necessarily the absolute fastest of the bunch, but they're known to be more stable than most third-party cards, and make decent overclockers as well. Had I seen this before you made your decision, I would have recommended it. ;)

I had never heard of Power Color. I saw their 9800XT's as low as $400 on pricewatch, but since I never heard of them, I didn't want to risk getting a poor quality card.

Yeah, I finished Far Cry last night. The game was 1000x better after I got the 9800XT. Incredibly smooth at 1600x1200 and max settings!
