At the moment the best bargain is a 5900 xt, cheap plus it overclocks to 5950 speeds in most cases. 5950 speeds at half the price is very good value indeed:thumb:

any of the newer cards would give you a nice performance boost in farcry. But as its been started before once Nvidia and ATI release their newer cards in June the prices of the 9800XT and 5900ultra or 5950 will drop enough to make them an attractive upgrade to your GF4 ti 4200.

if you absolutely must buy not I would suggest going with a 9800 [non pro if money is tight, or a pro if you are willing to spend the extra $60]. 9800Pro's run a little over $200US now..

your processor and memory are definately good enough for the games you are trying to run.

maybe try tuning XP services a little to get better performance. try this guide: http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm
