    Default Radeon 9000 vs. 9200SE

You may have seen my post about the bad 9200SE that I bought recently. I sent it back to the place I got it, and am waiting for them to receive it. However, they are out of stock now, and the closest substitute there is a Radeon 9000. The specs are as follows:

9200SE, 64MB DDR, 8X AGP, vga, tv, and dvi connectors.

9000, 128MB DDR, 4X AGP, vga, tv, and dvi connectors.

Would the Radeon 9000 as listed above be comparable, faster, slower, or what? SHould I get than instead?

The 9000 even with the 4xAGP will still be faster as it uses a 128-bit memory interface while the 9200SE only has a 64-bit memory interface.

Well, considering I'm using it on a MB that only supports up to 4X, I'll try to get that one. :) I was thinking ahead, when I upgrade the MB, which will be soon I hope...

    Thanks for the info.

Take the r9000, it is a much better card. There is no difference between 4x and 8x anyway.

I got about a 33% performance boost going from 4x to 8x AGP

No, you didn't. Getting an 8x card that was superior to your previous 4x card may have resulted in that much improvement, but running a card at 8x instead of 4x won't produce more than 1% improvement, if that much.
