    Default agp coming to end (6800gt and ultra dicontinued)

    is it true that the 6800gt and ultra is discontinued cause i cant find them anywhere. i wanted to get but know i cant and i wanted to know if the new evga 6800gs co http://www.evga.com/products/moreinf...256-A8-N397-TX is good also i want to know if i can unlock the 12 pixel pipelines to 16 and turn it into the 6800ultra

    Yes its true that both of them were dropped and replaced with the GS model and that one you picked will do fine as you will limited by your CPU anyway.

    can you unlock the 12 pixel pipelines on the 6800gs co to 16 pixel pipelines and turn it into the 6800ultra

    it prolly depends on the pcb man.

    You can still find the GT and Ultra, just expect to pay a premium price. As for specific brands, you need to do some Google searches to figure that out.

    I thought there were rumours of a 7800GS coming out as the last AGP card.

    I have also read that it uses the NV40 core which has teh other 4 pipes that are unlockable!!!

    That is just 1 of about 10 sites that state it and there are lots of people reporting 4 unlockable pipes working for them! AGp should not be abandoned yet and this is a welcome sight I am sure for you guys.

    Yeah, they are making the AGP 7800GS. DAMNIT if it's cheaper than the PCI-E one I feel stupid.
