'06 takes CPU into account, '05 does not. Just over 10k in '05 is what the 7900GTXs are getting.
Is it just me, or should ~150 more mhz in a GPU get a larger gain than ~1k in '05?? I have my 7800GTX @515 and get ~9200

I have a 7800GTX, I was wondering why the 650+MHz 7900 only gains ~1k in '05 compared to my 7800@515/~9200. I just run the omega drivers, only because they have the frequency unlocked. I noticed no performance difference between the Nvidia drivers, in benchmarks or games.
I'll have to get numbers from home, but I ran without the CPU being overclocked and it didn't drop that much in '05.

    because you said plz...

    to matm-
i only use nvidia or rarely beta drivers from 3dportal drivers, omegas.mmm back in the way back days of my 9800pro,not now with thesenewer 6-7 series nvidia cards.and for 2 i never!overclock anything,if i have to overclock it means i need new hardware,or its not setup correctly.i would score 200-500 points more if a ran a amd 64x2 chip vs my single core sandy because yes the 06 test is more cpu intenvise, ultimatly giving ppl with dual core chips the advangtage of using multithreading in cpu test2 on 06.read up on it,i did and 4200x2 this summer for sure.

    and zachwsx---
Zach your comp specs i will go down the line plz dont take offense...

Amd Athlon xp3200+ 2.2ghz---i guess thats the best for the k-7 series, they oc great 2.5 +,kinda old tho
Foxconn kt600--umm grab atleast name brand for performance ,better bios options dfi, asus, gigabyte,so many, why foxconn,u save $25 buying that 1?
    1gb ddr400 Kingston Tech--grab another gig (matching)
    BFG 6800gs 256mb agp--at 521-1170 they get 6243 05 score(not bad)12 pipes heh were up to 16,20, 24 pipes now..
ATX Thermaltake Tsunami Dream(nice case man..)
    Seagate sata 80gb harddrive(works good)
    500watt Rosewill powersupply(<--lose it!-grab a antec\ocz\pcpower only)

as for your next upgrade?you want..u said
    Next Upgrade
EPoX EP-9NDA3J Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce3 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard(go nforce4 only,nf3 has been out for over1-2 years now, old, and get a real name brand board for $20 more..epox....mm,naaa)
    AMD Athlon64 3700+(<--better be san diego core-fx57 core,only $215 newegg now,i paid $250 7 months ago)

grab the best things u can buy, only if its 1 thing at a time, make sure u can get the best your budget allows vs buying 2 cheaper items, get 1 nice item(7900gt is only $280 now and beats the 7800gtx :p).u will thank yourself later.alot of ppl i meet grab of bunch of cheaper stuff at 1 shot and regret it later, thats why i started this post,to inform, not bash....educate\help my fellow brothers heretime to frag out bf2 time!!! =0

bf2nut, for god's sake, please, try at least some form of grammar...it doesnt need to be perfect, just a comma or two, a period, or maybe try a few in a row......my eyes cry out in pain everytime I try to read a post of your's!!!

CPU was at 3.6, click the score in my sig, it's linked to my ORB project.

The best I've seen for a system similar to mine is 3099 in '06, it was a Dutch guy with air cooling out on his balcony in 0 degrees C running his cpu at 3.9.

Everything in 3DMark06 was default, res was 1280 x 1024 etc

Once it cools down a bit here and I can get my cpu over 3.75 I'll have another go at it.

what you put at the top there is correct maybe in fact, but i think you miss the point. we are people who like the best bang-for-buck, to coin a phrase. the graphics card market changes so rapidly that youre lucky if the previously best card is still the best after another month. personally, i shopped around to find the best card in my price range, and although is is now definately mid-range, it plays everything i throw at it, with panache (read antialiasing lol) .bf2 isnt even that demanding, and a single 6800gs will play it as well as most gamers will want.
    System Specs:

    Sapphire Radeon X800GTO2 chip r430 @ 480mhz core/540mhz mem with 1.6v vcore
