what you put at the top there is correct maybe in fact, but i think you miss the point. we are people who like the best bang-for-buck, to coin a phrase. the graphics card market changes so rapidly that youre lucky if the previously best card is still the best after another month. personally, i shopped around to find the best card in my price range, and although is is now definately mid-range, it plays everything i throw at it, with panache (read antialiasing lol) .bf2 isnt even that demanding, and a single 6800gs will play it as well as most gamers will want.
    for starters,

thats fine how u take u me as,np(name calling is for kids anyways)..as far as bf2 " bf2 isnt even that demanding"you said?.well to that statement when i first got bf2 i had a 6800gt,2 gigs ram amd 64 3200,ocz powerstream 520 at the time.since i played the game more and really went crazy over it,i sold my 19in crt flat quantex(junk)to buy a 22in mitishibishi diamindtron 200nf crt flat for $99+$50 shipping at azatek.com .anyway long story short, besides upgrading the moniter i splurged and grabed 4 gigs ocz platium, dfi ultra d sli mobo, amd 64 3700sd,and 6800ultra.well leeme tell u i started to really see how resolutions could easily be attained now with the new setup(went from soso 1280x768 med settings to 1600x1200 med-hi settings)now dont get me wrong everyone is differnt on there levels of acceptable(mine is hi,needing higher).also keep in mind this moniter supports 1800x1440 @70hz for under $150!.the ultra couldnt do it,sorry it couldnt period(low settings would stutter it out.so i grabbed a 7800gt(woa)to my suprise i finally seen what bf2 could offer me in return for the money i shelled out(alot..)the gameplay i craved deep down.it was truly amazing but i knew nvidia was creeping up on a new 7900gtx.i was like wow i must have this card.grabbed one and i must tell u i never ever thought i could own a single card to go over 10,000 points on 3dmark06,run the resolutions i wanted, and feel good about this purchase($600,mwave..ouch)after a year or two.and to think back when i first started with bf2 and my 6800gt running 1024x768-1280x768 was amazing,i was relizing my expectations drove me to find a whole new world of bf2.so again it comes down to what u think is good for your game.i found mine.as the models roll up,prices do as well, pipelines, resolutions, and overall smoothness in higher fps across the board.there is a massive difference dude!!.i guess chevy cavaliers hang with vettes ehh?

best bang for the buck u crave ehh

    7900gt 24 pipes for under $300 beats the 7800gtx...

Zach your comp specs i will go down the line plz dont take offense...

Amd Athlon xp3200+ 2.2ghz---i guess thats the best for the k-7 series, they oc great 2.5 +,kinda old tho
Foxconn kt600--umm grab atleast name brand for performance ,better bios options dfi, asus, gigabyte,so many, why foxconn,u save $25 buying that 1?
    1gb ddr400 Kingston Tech--grab another gig (matching)
    BFG 6800gs 256mb agp--at 521-1170 they get 6243 05 score(not bad)12 pipes heh were up to 16,20, 24 pipes now..
ATX Thermaltake Tsunami Dream(nice case man..)
    Seagate sata 80gb harddrive(works good)
    500watt Rosewill powersupply(<--lose it!-grab a antec\ocz\pcpower only)

as for your next upgrade?you want..u said
    Next Upgrade
EPoX EP-9NDA3J Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce3 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard(go nforce4 only,nf3 has been out for over1-2 years now, old, and get a real name brand board for $20 more..epox....mm,naaa)
    AMD Athlon64 3700+(<--better be san diego core-fx57 core,only $215 newegg now,i paid $250 7 months ago)

grab the best things u can buy, only if its 1 thing at a time, make sure u can get the best your budget allows vs buying 2 cheaper items, get 1 nice item(7900gt is only $280 now and beats the 7800gtx :p).u will thank yourself later.alot of ppl i meet grab of bunch of cheaper stuff at 1 shot and regret it later, thats why i started this post,to inform, not bash....educate\help my fellow brothers heretime to frag out bf2 time!!! =0

if ppl private message me i will send screenshots galore, not to sure of image shack :p,hmmm
hey well yes i got some old stuff but its ok anyway that foxconn board is my first board upgrade from my old hp msi crappy one and to tell u the truth foxconn is everywere just look at a chip on a board and u just might see foxconn no joke. Well any way yes the amd64 3700+ is a san-diago core and i did some research before i got to a final dissisoin. Also i can't use nforce 4 they dont got it for agp and im not about to upgrade to a new graphic card cause i got my card a little bit ago ($220 dad paid) and Epox is not cheap its been around for a while and they are grate overclockers and i heard alot of grate things about them. (ps: i am an overclocker and i like it lol)

Know for the psu to tell u the truth that rosewill is grate havent had a prob yet and it has a sterdy case but your right the other companies are better and i also didnt want to spend alot it was only $50 so i bought it. Might get a new one later on.

Also my dad is payin for this new upgrade $300 and if i tell u this u may not belive me but im 15 years old so i cant get the top stuff i want.

one more thing as for my graphic card how am i supposed to hit 521-1170 could be my mobo i maxed at like 425-1100 with a vertex pipe unlocked / if i unlock pixel pipe i get problems. oh and thanks for the info

    1 guys review below

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157081

    Great board for the money"

Pros: I used this board on my fourth computer build and have had no problems with it. I started off using a 9800pro agp, which worked fine. when that card finaly failed i bought a 7800gt pci-e which worked ...
fine also. i have run the memory in both single channel and dual channel. with no problems.

Cons: i have yet to find a problem with this board...

Other Thoughts: this board offers great upgrade options with both the agp and pci-e. and a "future cpu port" for new cpus the will be coming out

it sounds pretty solid zach, let your dad see for himself, show him these links i posted for u in the threads here, good luck bro

I overclock to get the most performance and longest use out of my system which is on the same lines as "most bang for buck". So my $500 4400+ will outpace an FX-60, which is over 1k. I, for one, do not see the point of buying new hardware when a simple overclock will yield equal or sometimes greater performance than the new hardware.
To each their own I suppose.

I would be interested to see an underclocked 7900 though, set to 7800 specs, 430/1200, 460/1300(stock BFG) just to see how the two compare.
