    Default enough power

hey guys, i think i'm gonna get another bfg 7800gtx (let me know if you have objections) and get an sli setup going. my only concern so far is if i'll have enough power for this. i have an antect sp500 psu, do you think it will do the trick or do i need to upgrade. thanks

If you are only going to run stock speeds, you may have just enough juice. How many amps is the 12V+ rail? You really should run at least 32A on the12V+ for SLI and 36A+ is even better. As for going SLI, don't expect huge increases in performance and speed in real life, but it does help. If you have the money, go for it. I am building a Crossfire system and the price to performance ratio is not as good as SLI, but I want something different.

i don't think money is an issue, i'd gladly buy a newer and more powerful psu, but i'm conserned about wiring it up. is that a difficult thing to do? any guides you would suggest. also, i'm not sure of the amperage.

simply unplug old connecters and replace with new ones from p\s...easiset way take one off put 1 on then unscrew old p\s ,the simply rescrew in new p\s.its wired...lol your p\s sounds ok i guess ,ut i would look at mabye a 600 watt ocz powerstream sli certfied$170 or a pc power and cooling 510 watt sli Certified (not just sli ready.)...

Even though they are highly rated, I would skip the PC Power & Cooling stuff, too expensive. I would get an OCZ Powerstream 520W PSU:

And if you simply want extra power, get the OCZ 600W Powerstream. They are great units.
