do you only have pci slots or do you have agp and
a 6200 should play battle field 2 on high but it depends on your system set up if you could post what you have

Wow, I didn't even know they had a 6200 in pci! I've been looking for something for a computer that's limited also by the lack of pci-e and agp. It sounds like a pretty good upgrade, but you won't be able to run it on high. It's not the graphics card, it's more the slot's problem. Pci runs at 1x, Agp at 4x or commonly 8x, and Pci-e at 16x. Either way, I might think of picking one of those up.

3DFuzion GeForce 6200 256MB PCI is the best card you can get for your comp right now. You can find it a chumbo i believe.

well the problem is that i dont have a credit card :( and that there is also a BFG Tech one (which my 5500 is from BFG Tech) also i only have PCI not AGP or PCIe and my computer specs are:

    - Intel Pentium 4 (2.4GHz) (No HT)
    - BFG Tech GeForce 5500 OC PCI
    - 512MB Ram (yes i know i am going to upgrade to be a 1GB)

if i am missing something just post :)

EDIT: and yes i do know i cant run battlefield 2 on high at least somethings on med? with a OK fps.

What kind of computer do you have? I've got a dell 2400 that sounds just like yours. Either way, I put a Corsair XMS pc3200 1gig dual channel kit in mine. It's really nice and I can really see the improvement - I would highly recommend it.

Both a 6200 and 5500 in pci are going to perform about the same. Either of these cards are not going to have any gain from being 256mb instead of 128mb because they are too slow to begin with.

The 6200 i posted about is the best option for you bottom line. Doesnt matter what vendor you get it from its the only option I would go with at the moment.

i agree 100 %,and 1 gig is standerd now in bf2(they upped min specs 512 wont run it above low res)400 watt name brand (ocz, antec,pc power\cooling)p\s is a must for stability.but i have been accused of telling ppl that i tell them to spend to much money on things so i give up.

http://bf2hardware.sytes.net:6583/ read this plz and ram needs and bf2,i did not right this page .i copied it a while back in my favorites to help others.pci does not carry the bandwidth needed by such a demanding game such as bf2,but heh im a noob knows nothing hahaha you might like enemy territoy bro,its free and killer fast war game on any system.wow all these ads in here now...bleh sponsers..

Basically you'll see little to almost no gain with upgrading as your biggest prob is the fact that you're using the PCI bus and both those cards are bottlenecked by it.

Personally I'd start looking into getting something with a PCI-E slot.
