    Default Radeon X1950Pro 256MB or a Geforce 7800GT 256MB video card?

I'm looking for a cheap video card and both of these are about $150(US). Whats better a Radeon X1950Pro 256MB or a Geforce 7800GT 256MB video card?

x1950 no doubt. Its a very flexible card, from gaming to video editing.
    My System:
    -AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Manchester Em4 Revision
    -Abit KN8-ULTRA
    -X800GTO2 @ X850XT PE (16 pipelines)
    -1024MB PQI TURBO DDR 400 @ (2x512) Dual Channel
    -450W Heavy Duty Rosewill Powersupply
    -Samsung Syncmaster 940BF>>>NEW
-Seagate 250GB 16MB cache (perpendicular recording) with NCQ...

Doesnt it also depend upon the antialiasing you like or the Anisotrophic filtering?
I dont know what card is better for which, but I do know that the old PCI radeon 9250 could handle my COD2 at the highest terrain textures but nothing else or it would get really sluggish

Why is the Geforce 7800GT 256MB at least $150 more then the Radeon x1950 256MB if the Radeon is better?

Maybe becuase they don't make the Geforce 7800GT chipset anymore, atleast thats the only thing that comes to mind. There are not many of them listed on Newegg.
Its high priced unless you buy a recertified one or open boxed item, then the price seems takes about a 50% cut. Thats alot more than they normally cut the price off things.

Heres the best deal on the X1950pro at Newegg. I think it was a little less the other day when I first posted this thread though. Must have had a price jump.

One note to add to your claim. The GF 7800GT has 20 pipelines and the X1950pro has only 12 pipelines. I always thought that was a big plus to have more of those but I'm guessing there is more to take into consideration, um, right?

    8800GTS FTW

To answer the question, X1950 is way better. It's more comparable to a 7900GT.

I thought the comparisons were off! the 7800 is compared to the X1900 right?

The 7800GT is indeed more comparable to an X1800 series card.
