Not all slot fans are created equal. Mine moves over 42 cfm. And to raise your scores try the new 40.41 detonators I went to 11,321 (from 10,649) on my first try & not at my previous max overclock settings on my pny GeForce4 Ti 4200. More info in the video drivers thread.

What make is your Ti4200? my MSI has been running 300/600 few weeks now without any additional cooling. Sure it'll propably shorten its lifespan but I doubt It'll kill it before its obsolite anyways. It could propably be OC'ed a bit more with windmills but right now cpu speed is my bottleneck.

You might want to check your heatsink is properly attached and has right amount of termal paste under it.

Mine is a PNY 64 Mb. I really pull off the maximum about 10 % when not benchmarking. Although burning up a card is a great excuse to buy another. When the nv30's come out I think a run at 400/800 is in order on the 4200. He, He.

The det 40 drivers gave me nothing more in terms of 3dmarks. What it actually did was make games so dark it looked like crap . I changed back to the 30 ones and all is fine.

My Gforce 4 card needs fans before i OC any more .

    Cheers guys.

I shall return as soon as i have more cooling on my VGA card :)

Thanks for the info. No problem with darkening for me, but all the cards are different. Got to 11,330 - not much more than my initial try. Artifacts show at a little lower overclock with the 40.41's (same as I found with the 31.00's)

I was a bit dissapointed actually i expected more from the latest drivers :(

Anyone else had any problems with the new det drivers ?

For me it was in SOF 2 , was extremly dark even after turning brightness up to max in both the game and in the driver settings

Mad Onions site has a poll and there are others with decreases. Most are still showing large increases.
