Sorry i posted this in the motherboards section aswell.
Anyways what is the great difference and/or significance of the AGP slot speeds. ie 2x 4x 8x.
I just changed my vid settings

    :right clicked
    :properties
    :settings
    :advanced
    :gf3ti
    :additional properties.....

I just changed the agp slot, from auto adjusting, to 4x .
Is this a better move for graphical performance in gaming ?
    or just overall ?

AGP is not just a slot, but a bus as well. The "X" values are multiples of the origional bus transfer capabilities. The bigger the "X" value, the more data per second over the bus. The actual speed is probably less relevant because of the large amounts of ram on vid cards today. Much of the processing is done on the card now instead of passing it back and forth to the system memory (one of the reasons that built in video is so slow - all of those bus trips). Faster AGP speeds will increase video, but 8X won't yield video that is twice as fast as 4X. As far as selecting 4X over auto, I should not imagine that will make a difference, as the highest speed supported (4X) by your mobo and vid card should have been the atomatic selection.
