Thread: Will oc'ing a card shorten its life?

    Yeah. Anyway, back to the point of the thread. If you OC something it will shorten it's life. But by the time it dies you won't really want it anyway.
    New Sig soon, old one was way outdated.

    *sigh* You missed the analogy. When the amd overheats it burns up, becoming useless, hence you could use it as a coaster, thus making it an expensive coaster. *aaaaahhhhhh* Anyways, I just want to avoid looking over and seeing the smoking ruins of my geforce 4 at some point in time but it seems from what your saying is that it will not actually burn up, it will just crash and maybe last 2 years instead of 4.

    You will get over 4 years even with it oc'ed. But like I said, by the time the card actually stops working it will be obsolete.
