I think you should hold off on getting a HD for now...and use that Samsung until you get some more cash down the road. That old can wait can it...then after you get your 80gb WD special Edition later on transfer your Samsung back and have a lil lan going with it.

For PSU's go with something Over 400 Watts for a gaming PC.

i was thinking on those terms too. i guess i should wait a bit for that 80GB HD and a DVD ROM Drive. they can come in later.
right now i might have to compromise with a bit of RAM too (may be just 256MB of that 3200)...but i should get a good vid card. isn't it?

That'll work...get a real good card hold off on the 256 of 3200 but get it as soon as possible. Why you ask well not only is 512 better (obviously) but the nForce2 mobo has a nice feature called Dual Channel Memory which with two sticks of the same memory and amount you will gain a decent amount of performance on memory. So try to get that extra ASAP to have that system top notch.

What Processor are you looking at right now?

With some the right of amount of Intake to Exhaust fans on your case, and a Volcano 7+ or 9 you will be good.

Show your dad this thread...maybe you can do some convincing...Dispelling AMD vs. Intel "which runs cooler?" Myths
