I'm building a new system for a cousin. How do the below specs look to you guys?

ANTEC MINUET MicroATX Case and 220W P/S
    Intel Pentium 4 2.4Ghz Socket (533MHZ FSB)
    Asus P4S533-VM
Hercules Prophetview 720 15" LCD Monitor
    Samsung 256mb DDR RAM PC-3200 400Mhz
    ASUS GeForce 4 MX440
    Seagate 40gb 7200rpm HDD

    OR
I can go AMD XP 2700+ system, if so which MicroATX mobo would be suitable?

This system is only based for general use and extreme gaming is not a case.

Also how does a (Sapphire Technology ATI Radeon 9700 Pro All In Wonder 128mb TV/DVI Out) sound?

I hope that 220W PSU was a typo becuase i highly doubt it will run that machine. Look into atleast 300W. 350W should be your best bet.

The Antec case provides the PSU, it's a micro ATX, and the only things that would run off it would be one cd rom, a hdd, floppy drive and the mobo itself.

A good Athlon board would be the A7N8X-VM for hte micro atx.

For that system you don't need pc3200, pc2700 is what u need at the max. Otherwise that 220w PSU sould be able to power everthing.

For osme reason, people seem to be under the impression that they need 500 watts to run the smallest of systems. I just built a system that needed a 500w PSU, but it had 12 15,000RPM SCSI drives in RAID 10, cd-rom, floppy, Dual 2.8 GHZ xeon, 4 gigs ram and and asus pp-dlw mobo.

lol  . You're so right there. However, 220 watt still sounds skimpy. 300w or 350 would be a better choice, just in case :thumb: . : peace2: Mista K6

All sounds good. Even the PSU case combo.

Although I am not sure how much the hercules LCD is, I would highly recommend the Cornea line, for price, as well as bang for the buck.
They really blow the competition away, and have ALWAYS been the cheapest in category from what I have read and seen.
    I have a 17" and a 19" and highly recommend them both.
The 17" should go for around $400, sometimes cheaper if they put out a $50 rebate that they said they were going to do earlier this summer. I personally haven't checked to see if it is back in effect.
