its not a crappy ass radeon, it scores higher in 3dmark 2001se. and yes i have the non ultra 128mb card. the radeon is just clocked higher, but the cooling isnt that good. i was thinking of using the extra money to buy better cooling for it like that one guy said. i think if you just add all together the facts that its a great overclocker, cheaper, and good benchmark scores i think it better, but this forum proves me wrong all the time so i figured id check with you guys

...i wasn't refering to the card, i was refering to the name! Like pretend you have a ****ty radeon, and a really good geforce, you would pick the radeon over the geforce because it sounds better?

fx performs like a 4400, but cost more. As a 9600 is cheap and can perform the same.

Dude its only clocked higher because its crippled by only having 4 pipelines. It has to be clocked higher to overcome this, and it can do this because it is made with a .13 micron process (all other ATI cards are .15). The 9500 Pros are faster and are clocked lower (basically a watered down 9700).

Higher clocks do not necessarily mean higher performance.

The GF4 Tis overclock like crazy too and will beat a 9600 because they have 8 pipelines. The only drawback is they don't support DX9 for upcoming games. The 5600 Ultra performs on par with them but the regular one does not.
