I am thinking of buying a new HDD, but which model would be best? Currently I have a Maxtor DiamondMax +9 Fluid 60Gb (uATA), but I propably wonīt buy another Maxtor, because my friendīs two brand new Maxtors broke down recently.

I was thinking of SerialATA HDD, maybe Western Digital Caviar SE 120GB 8MB (3 year guarantee). Will the SerialATA HDD be any faster than uATA HDDīs?

Does anyone have a better idea? (3 year guarantee is a MUST!!)

     :?:

The extra bandwidth provided by Serial ATA won't do anything for those drives, as they can't push that much data to take advantage of it. The drives that will benefeit from it will be faster drives like the Raptor.

...so there is no point of paying 20€ more from SATA HDD, right?

The SATA connection cable is thinner than (rounded) IDE cable though... ;)
