Thread: Kingston Hyper-X vs. Corasir XMS

    I could boot my Corsair at 240....but that means nothing.

    On AMD chipsets RAM seems to be able to run higher on less voltage than on Intel chipsets. Just because it will do it in one system does not guarantee it will do it in another.

    For example my HyperX will do 240 2-2-2-5 3.2v stable through 3DMark but put in an AMD and it may do 250 at the same voltage.

    I test them out in Lobby (a pure RAM test) to find out if they are stable. I run it 3 times, it always bombs by then if they are unstable.

    Your board has up to 2.9v right? Are those Buffalo BH5 or CH5?

    2.9 is max, thugh im considering a vdimm mod, not positive on it yet though. Interesting tidbit on the Lobby test, didnt know that

    they are CH-5 chips
