    I have a problem :barf:

I want to upgrade my pc but i dunno if should do it now or not.
    This is my sys specs
    AMD xp 2000+
    4x wb 120gb 7200 8mb raid 0 PATA
    1x Maxtor 60gb (boot) PATA
    Asus a7a266 <<very old
    Asus V9950 Ultra
    Plextor Premium
    DVD RW+/RW-
    DVD 16x Rom
    Creative Audigy2
    Fast Trak tx2000 (promise)
    512 ddr 266 Kingston

I want to upgrade my pc to an amd athlon 64 3400+ with the asus K8V Deluxe and 1gb pc3200 Kingston Hyper X DDRAM 400MHz and a raptor as boot hdd, i don't need to say i will re-use the raid card ,etc.

Now my question is if i should upgrade my pc now or if i should wait for the new amd 64fx, ddr2, pci-express and btx.
I do want to change my video crad over 1year so i can get a pci express card. so that means i need to get a new main board and if the main board has pci express that would probably mean it use btx and if it use btx i would need to change my tower.

So what should i do, wait or upgrade?

    I would do it now.

Besides the coming FX's wont use DDR2 as far as I know.

I'd go ahead and do it now. I am always skeptical about Leading Edge technology. Sometimes it is just a bunch of marketing hype (8x AGP for example). Plus I'll probably wait 6 months after the first BTX/PCI-Express board comes out to even consider a purchase. I like to wait till they fix all the bugs with the new tech and get newer revisions out their, and see which systems are producing the highest results. Plus new versions of chipsets are well worth the wait, consider nForce2 compared to nForce2 Ulltra 400.

And you'll be able to keep that raptor in any system probably for the next 10 years or so.
