I've recently had some (well im hoping this is it) problems with my psu, so its time for an upgrade.

I was using a 450 watt generic one that shat itself.

I'm looking for something around the 400watt mark thats pretty decent, but then i dont want to be spending an absolute fortune on one.

If you have any particular psu's that you would recommend please share :)

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

I've been usin' Antec 430W PSU's for quite some time now and none have yet failed me or my clients (I also use their 480W versions when the load demands it).

I agree with Wiggo that the Antec's are great units but on the downside they are also pricey:eek: .
The last system I built, I stuck in a Thermatake Purepower 420 watt PSU, it was as heavy as an Antec truepower unit and seemed to rid me of all my known problems cuased by my cheap, unstable PSU's in the past (God I've tried a bunch of them:snip: ). Anyway the unit was only $50 (US) at Newegg and I'll probably get another one for my next system providing it's compatable. I'd recommend it even though I haven't given it a long term test.

Acually the price went up $4 since I bought it. :?: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...=BROWSE&depa=0

Thanks for pointing that out. Shipping would probably cost a small fortune . Anyway someone downunder must carry it.

In fact www.belowzero.net carry both Antec and Thermaltake PSU's, http://www.below-0.net/belowzero.asp...wer%20Supplies (don't even bother lookin' at the other brands listed there). They also seem to be the cheapest in Brisbane from the 5 online stores that I checked.
