Thread: New rig, or wait 4 a bit

    Hello All, currently have come into some cash 300,($500) and am lookin into doing a sytem upgrade, currently my specs are,

    1900xp palmino @ 1.70
    Gigabyte ga7dxr+
    256 meg 2100 value ram / socket 1
    128 meg 2100 value ram / socket 2
    Gigabyte 9200, 128 meg
    system disk, 40 gig segate u series x
    Slave 120gig segate baracuda
    Sound blaster audegy ls + 5.1 videologic surrond speakers
    2 cheap ethernet cards
    windows 2000 pro / mandrake linux 9.2


    I was wondering on the stuff below, or is it worth keepin the above untill pci express and the new standards come out?

    An can u people recomend some good ram. but i gota keep within 300,

    ram---> corsair XMS, OCZ, Geil, Kingston Hyper X, even Crucial is a solid RAM if your a little more budget oriented....

    wait and save your money. There are a lot of great things comming out later this year. If you upgrade know, you will probably be regretting it later

    Same as I do, been waiting 6 months to get a new comp ever since I got wind of PCI-E, Socket-939 A64's, and DDRII. Ah well, its worth the wait . : peace2: Mista K6

    P.S. any chance we can get all the old smiley's back?

    Wait till June and then either those 2 parts will be a lot cheaper or ya'll have some better ones to choose from at those prices.
