I'd go for the 9800 Pro.

You could go for a 9600 XT retail package containing Half-Life 2 if you want Half-Life 2, but I think your money would be better spent on a 9800 Pro.

The fastest of the choices is the 9800 Pro. The 5900XT...no way. Main reason is that nVidia fubar'd the DX9 part of the FX line. They do have correct DX9 support in the drivers, but that's no match for the hardware support of the Radeon 9500/9600/9700/9800 chips.

It kind of depends on the system, but you'll probably want somewhere between 400W and 500W.

    Are you talking about benchmarks?

www.fraps.com (FRAPS, displays framerate while playing games, not really a benchmark)

I think ill go with the 9800 pro since its only $30 more here. Also i can get it on wholesale so thats even better. Do you think it would be worth getting the 9800XT on wholesale? How much less would it be? Im in australia btw. But how much would it on wholesale where any of you are?

Tom's Hardware has been known to have some iffy benchmarks, but the 9800 Pro should be much better than the others regardless of that. Simply put ATI just makes better cards; so a Radeon card with less core speed and memory speed can be faster than an nVidia card with faster speeds. ATI has better shaders and DX9 support, among others things, I guess.
