Well, there are many changes that could be made to the system, assuming you haven't purchased it yet, but...

For under $250 U.S., a Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro would be a good choice. However, it would be worth it to pay abou $280 for a GeForce 6800. It will perform much better than a 9800 Pro.

A lot of stuff would change... There are much better hardware choices you could have made for the same money, mianly getting an Athlon 64 system instead of a Pentium 4, but I wouldn't dwell on it (unless you feel like returning stuff). A 2.8C won't exactly perform poorly, so you'll live. The RAM wasn't a great choice either.

    *Ahem* Typo fixed. :)
Well I guess it wasn't too bad at all if the motherboard was free. Probably a crappy motherboard, though....

Either way, the GeForce 6800 is your best bet. If the extra $80 or so really bothers you, then the 9800 Pro is the next best thing.

Actually, that Soyo board isn't too bad. However, for some reason, the memory performance isn't quite as good as some other P4 boards I've used. That could be fixed with a BIOS update in all likelyhood. Soyo could also stand to have a bit better documentation too...
