That motherboard is ok but it doesent have a lot of options on it. You may want to chose another board. But is will do if you just want SATA and little else. You could always get add-on cards if you want more features in the future.

The leadteck 6800 might be a problem as well I don't think you would like the quality of that one there, get the card from a more well known munufacturer.

Not sure if the ocz ram would work in a 939 setup which would be ideal. the geil pc3500 in a pair would be good in a 939 board (with an A64 3000+). Unless your're on a budget in which case stick with the sempron (the ocz pc4400 ram may work in a DFI Nf3 board), it will still be pretty good (even better if you overclock, besides your ram will allow it) with that 6800.

Edit: I agree with what amdlover said, the leadtek 6800 probably isnt the best choice out there

WTF? Leadtek has been around for years and their quality is regarded as very high (I've got several of their cards here with a couple being over 4 yrs old) though this will usually make them a little dearer than other brands but then they come with a good software package (you boys need to get out more).

My friends and I all have had nothing but problems with them... Mabey it's just the Canadian stuff though. They arn't a well used name in Canada and seems to not be sold in a lot of retailers because of this.

DDR2 is irrelevant, and socket 939 is also irrelevant unless you want upgradability (and the other thread gave me the impression you didn't). The Chaintech is also perfect since you said you wanted a board with few onboard peripherals.

Just use three sticks of the PC3500 for this. I'd say 768MB is a pretty good amount, and I wouldn't waste PC4400 RAM in this system since it will just be a waste of expensive RAM that should be used with overclocking P4s, not A64s.

You'll also need a HSF and Arctic Silver 5 since you were planning on overclocking this. The Thermaltake Venus 12 and K8 Silent Boost are both pretty good models, depending on whether you want silence or a bit more cooling power.

The Leadtek is also just about the best 6800GT when it comes to overclocking. If I remember correctly, the eVGA comes with Doom 3 and FarCry, or maybe it was just one of them... Those are basically the two companies Iwould consider when choosing a 6800 or 6800GT.
