Not meaning to argue here, but having worked at Futureshop(owned by Best Buy) I know that the flyers are often wrong, even before I worked there I noticed things that were not quite right. For example I remember seeing a 15" LCD monitor in a Futureshop flyer with a resolution of 1600x1200. Now as we all know there is no such thing. I see mistakes like this made all the time.

As for who is right and wrong... Yawg is correct, even the Inspiron 1300, which comes with a celeron CPU has DDR2

Hey everyone, I'm starting to see some 15in screens with X1600's in them for around a grand. I called Dell and they told me to refuse the shipment if I didn't want the system I ordered from them since it hasn't arrived yet. The guy was pressuring me soooooo hard to get something else from them that it was kinda pathetic. He's calling me back this afternoon with a better offer, so he said. well anyway I'm thinking an X1600 would probably be better for gaming versus that X1400 card I was looking for in a small laptop before.

I'd certainly refuse the order and get the X1600 system. It will be quite a bit better for gaming.

Yawg, how about the T2300 CPU? Is that enough for gaming power?

I'm also kind of wondering if that Newegg link is a typo error. I've tried typing in the model number of that laptop on Google and it shows that an X1400 card is used in it at most sites. Neweggs closed, might have to check on it later.

    It's more than powerful enough. It's comparable to a socket 939 or AM2 Athlon 64 3000.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but the M2 socket has 940 pins and enables both SLi and DDR2/800, right?

Socket AM2 is indeed a 940-pin socket, however it is not compatible with socket 940. Provided the chipset supports it, it will work with SLI. DDR2 800 support is dependent on the specific processor, but yes, AM2 is the AMD socket with DDR2 support.

The Acer laptop is here. It has everything the add said it did. Had to change the factory set harddrive file system from Fat 32 to Ntfs. No biggy though. Seems to run BF2 fine but haven't had time to check high graphic settings out yet.
Its the first time I've seen a sticker on a system that says Windows Vista Capable. Last I heard the new OS is due out in January.
