Default Im ordering a Dell laptop, what should I get?

I'm getting the Dell Inspiron E1505 with a Radeon X1400 video card. The system will be used for some video gaming but I'm wondering how much the CPU upgrade will help from a Intel CoreDue T2300. +$60 for a T2400 and +$180 for a T2500.

Whats a TV tuner with remote like? I've never used one before. But I'll be using the laptop to watch alot movies and recorded TV shows at work and in motel rooms.

How about the upgrade to an ultra sharp screen SXGA for $80. Whats better about that?

How much better is a 9cell battery versus a 6cell?

The coupon code Q9Z60RTPKN13LD works for $300 off the system but I've read where there is an additional stackable code to get $35 off this system but it seems that buying off E-bay is the only way to get one, looks like most if not all ship it (Wait time for a code?). Any ideas?

The upgrade to a T2400 is arguably worth it. It won't really help gaming (the X1400 limits you) much, but it's a huge boost for $60.

My TV Tuner and remote work very well. The remote isn't an absolute necessity IMO, but it's a nice touch. If I were using a laptop-based tuner, I don't think I'd need a remote at all.

I don't see any screen upgrades available on the E1505. All I can say is I highly recommend the "True Life" screens, if you need an upgrade to get it. It makes the screen easily viewable from just about any angle. My friend got an E1505 without one and it's pretty much impossible to see the screen unless you're looking right at it.

If you plan to take it with you on plane, bus, or train rides or anything where you'll be without power the 9-cell is what will get you through it. It's a huge difference. Unless you're going to be using this almost entirely plugged in, get the 9-cell.

I'd recommend you upgrade it to the point where it costs more. You can get a better coupons when it costs more. It's usually something like $750 off $1999+, $500 of $1599+, and $300 of $999+. I got both my 9300 and my mom's E1705 by using more expensive coupons. Hers was $750 off $1999+ and mine was 25% off $1599+. IMO the best value is with those coupons, so go for that if you can afford it.

dont get a dell until they upgrade to ddr2 and get better mthrbrds, they r the sick dog of the pack when it comes to upgrading, but they r inexpensive. the dual core upgrade should really help with new apps because there r a lot of new games designed for dual core rigs.

The 1505 that I'm looking at does use DDR2 system ram.

Yawg, thanks for the input. I see what you mean by the coupons. I can upgrade to a T2500 CPU, 2gb system ram, the best screen, best network card and soundcard, TV tuner with remote, plus an extra 9cell battery for about $150 more than what I figured before with the $750 off $1999 inspiron laptops. Seems like I tried this before but it didn't work, now it does, go figure.....
I wish I could dump more funds into the video card versus the system ram or harddrive since I could order more ram for a hell of alot less than Dell charges and I have a Seagate IDE 100GB laptop harddrive that I could take out of an external harddrive case to use in this laptop, but the X1400 is unfortunatly the limit for video card upgrades for that system.

You could get a 1705 if the coupons are available.

I want the smaller screen, It'll get carried around alot along with alot of other stuff, so the lighter and smaller the better for me. I'd even like to go with a smaller screen than 15 inch but I can't find any systems that offer a decent video card with one any smaller.

I don't think you'll have any luck with getting better than an X1400 with any 15 laptop.
