    That sounds like a pretty good deal. You are mosly paying for the CPU though. What are you going to be doing with this Laptop, Gaming? I would not plan on gaming on that Laptop, but otherwise pretty good deal I guess.

    It would still be cheaper I think to get some of the parts(like extra RAM etc) from an online retailer. While I was pricing out a similar dell laptop early this summer I could have saved about $300CDN by getting Extra RAM and a bigger hard drive from an online retailer.

    school work + gaming....

    atm im using a AMD 2500+, 1GB RAM, NO GRAPHICS CARD! for gaming....

    So it couldnt be worse then that.... right?

    would the upgrade to the 256 graphics be worth it?

    First of all, where do you live, US, Canada, UK? I ca't even begin to price a laptop if I dont know the currency. Also, what is your budget?

    For gaming, go with the CPU that has the lower GHz for the core you want. CPU's are not important for gaming. The video is what you really need for gaming. I'd say a GO6800 is the bare minimum for an enjoyable gaming experience, and the newer the better. You are gonna have to make some tough choices if you really want it to game as gaming laptops are gonna be at least $1K more than you have budgeted.
