Default First Build need some help

Hey, obviously i'm new to this forum but I found alot of good information here and wanted to see if the Build i'm looking to do is good compatibility wise and good for a little OCing.

FYI this is going to be a comp primarily running WOW so i'd like to get some solid FPS with everything maxed since i've never been able to do that with my trash HP laptop. this is right now about $700 or $900 with the 22" LCD monitor i will get. I'm willing to go to $1,000 for the whole thing though

    Setup:

COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW Black Aluminum Bezel , SECC Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail

    PSU
Rosewill Stallion Series RD500-2DB 500W ATX12V Power Supply - Retail

    Mobo
GIGABYTE GA-EP45-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

    GPU
    EVGA 512-P3-N873-AR GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

    CPU
    Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80570E8400 - Retail

    RAM
    G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK - Retail

    HDD
    Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

Heatsink/CPU cooler since I figure the stock wont be enough for OCing
ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler - Retail

Also on the Heatsink/CPU cooler, does anyone know if that will fit on the board with either of the Video Cards?

BTW the Mobo says it comes with the most updated BIOS, but in the reviews i read people are saying it comes with F5 and they Flashed to F9. would that be the best BIOS to flash to? I figure this board is the best place to ask since people seem to be an experienced on Gigabyte Boards here.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me.

the only thing i really disagree with there is the PSU... you'll want a quality brand PSU because if you get a cheap one and it blows (which they often do) it'll take your GPU and maybe your CPU with it. I'd recommend an Antec, Corsair, OCZ or Enermax PSU.

Also for the video card, you'll definitely want to get the eVGA 9800GTX. If you can find a cheap 9800GTX+ you should grab that if you're really into nVidia.

    Newegg.com - XFX PVT98WYDFH GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

If you don't really care, an Radeon HD 4850/4870 would be a really good option. The 4850 will easily outperform a GTX and just beats the GTX+ and the 4870 will run pretty much exactly equally to the new GTX 260.

The cooler looks like a good choice, and i believe it will fit no problem. I'd also recommend the Tuniq Core Contact Freezer or the Noctua NH-U12P. They'll both offer great OC potential.

Other than that, everything looks great! Happy building!

Updated list now. I had to drom the DDR2 1066 down to 800 to keep it within budget but upgraded the GPU and PSU

    GPU
    EVGA 512-P3-N873-AR GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

    PSU
Antec earthwatts EA500 500W ATX12V v2.0 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Retail

    RAM
    G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

How does this look now? For what i have been reading i should only need 400-450W min to power this so should this be good with a 500W?

How well do the 800 OC? the mobo has a standard of 1200 so i was planning on getting the 1066 and OCing them, but with dropping to the 800 how high can I OC these too? Also i've seen alot of recommendations with gigabyte boards to use GSkill RAM but how does corsair or OCZ work with these boards? They have good deals on 1066 RAM from both companies

thats looking great... good to see you looked at the GTX+ and the new PSU... from what I can see, you can definitely do some serious OCing (you should be able to get to 4GHz or higher) and you'll be getting the best possible gaming experience you can for $1000

As for the RAM, you should be able to get up to about 950MHz, possibly even higher with the right settings.
