    Default New PC

I guess it's a bit late to ask what should i buy because i already ordered it , however i was wondering what do you think of what i have chosen:

    Motherboard:
    GB X48T-DQ6
    CPU:
    INTEL CORE 2 QUAD Q9400
    RAM:
    2x2GB KIT DDR3 Super T
    HDD:
    150GB WD,SATA2,VelociRaptor 10 000rpm, 16mb
    Video card:
    GIGABYTE R487X2-2GH-B
    Monitor:
    Asus 24'
    PSU:
    PSU FORTRON EVEREST 1010/1KW

This is supposed to be a good gaming pc and i will add a second video card when it's needed. Currently i don't see the need of a second one. It is supposed to arrive today so please be kind in your replies :P

It will certainly game all right. You should also have more than enough head room for future expansion without having to replace components. Just make sure to use a 64-bit operating system to fully utilize the memory.

UMMM... the x48 dq6 doesn't support DDR3 RAM... please tell me you mean either DDR2 or the X48T DQ6... you'll probably also want more hard drive space in no time at all... other than that, that rig will game great

Thank you for your time guys. Yes i'm using vista 64 ultimate or at least trying :) (i have some problems with the interface because everything is kinda misplaced compared to my old xp)

The mother board is indeed x48t i missed the "t" in that text.

Well i was thinking to put another hard drive and link them with raid 0. The last tests here of the velociraptors show that 2 of them do almost 2ce the speed of a single one. However for now i can assure you that the one i have is doing more then fine. In the future(1-2 years from now) i'm planning to put a second hard drive and a second video card.

I'm glad i picked it well. Thanks to this site mostly i must say. I also found a couple other sites wich were harder to navigate in but they did show the same test results and they turned out to be accurate when i actually bought the machine. SO A BIG THANKS TO THE STAFF AT TWEAKTOWN.

i did some tests on crysis and with maxed out detail and a resolution of 1920x1200 it does sit at about 40 fps without overclocking of the cpu or the video card.

One more question , how much would that computer cost where you are at guys , because i think it's way overpriced in europe ?

ok thats good to know... i was worried for a second... yeah electroncis tend to be pretty expensive in Europe, but a rig like that would cost about AU$3100, but that's with the 300GB Velociraptor and an Antec case... so maybe Au$2800... either way, you're getting a great rig for gaming

that would be 1455.27 Euro or US$1987.38. but in most European countries, electronics prices are comparable to the price as it is in USD, but, of course, in euros.
