    Default What case and PSU

    Hi
I am thinking about building the PC below. Would you guys let me know what case and PSU would be best if I wanted to OC my system. I am in the UK and would like to spend max 60 on the case and 80 on the PSU.

    Intel Quad Q6600
    Xigmatek S1283
    4GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 RAM
    Geforce GTX260 gfx
500 GB Western Digital SATA HD
    SATA DVD Writer

My main choices atm are Coolermaster RealPower 620W Modular for the PSU and Coolermaster CM690 or Antec 300 cases. Are those good enough or which ones would you recommend.

    Thanks

Yeah I like the Antec 300 Case, its the one I nearly went with when I bought my new bits. The PSU would probably be good enough for what you want. Is there any reason you have chosen th Q6600?

As its the easiest to OC out of all the quad cores, I also know the Q6700 is good too as it has a 10 x multipler but its 20 more so will stick to the Q6600.

I have been told to get the Corsair 650w non modular as its better then the CM PSU. Cant really afford the 620w corsair modular version.

Also been told to get CM690 case as it will be less tight then the Antec for the GTX260.

I'm very happy with my Antec 300. I'm using a Corsair VX550 PSU and cable management is not too good but my temps are excellent. I don't have a big video card, but don't think you'll have a problem.

I have the PC Power & Cooling 610W. Awesome PSU and from a reputable and long established company. For my PC build I bought the Ultra m998 case. Lots of room, all the sides come off, and the mobo tray slides out for easier installation. Plenty of room in the case to add those long graphics cards.

If you are planning on OC'ing, I would consider a NZXT Tempest. At 89.99, its a bargain, and it absolutely rocks. ("King of Airflow" - Tomshardware.com) Very easy to work with and great cable management as well.

The Antec is also an excellent choice, but just in case you want to jump up a step or two.

Regarding the Q600, i disagree that it is the easiest to overclock. I think the 9 series is a solid upgrade for the price. consider a 9400 or higher

most PSU's will do, "top sellers" on newegg
