    Actually I take that back! You can download the release candidate NOW for windows 7 here (microsoft.com)

    It will work for over a year (ie until june 2010,) after which time you can buy a license.

    Personally I'd run either XP or a copy of Win& RC1 x64 for now, then buy Win7 x64 when it's released. Not much point in buying Vista. I've used Vista (x86 and x64) and Win7, and like Win 7 much more.

    Gaming performance is better in Win7 than in Vista and XP for me, and it's only a Release Candidate. As soon as the final code goes retail (October 22nd) and drivers evolve, things will only get better.
