    If you're editing video, the 8 mb cache comes in handy to speed things up.

    oh another thing i forgot to mention is ill be using it for dvd ripping....so encoding and all that bizzo...however the os will be on a 40gb ata-100 7200 2mb ...

    Well if you don't mind getting a 1600+ and ocing it (then upgrade later) you can get them for only $55 US at www.newegg.com... might save a bit of money and you can always upgrade in the future...

    thanks for the input guys...

    i think ill get a 1.2ghz morgan and a 80gb now, then upgrade the motherboard, video card, and ram later on...when i get more cash :(

    You could just cut costs off your original post. Get an XP 1600+ instead of an 1800+. you save $40. As mentioned Lite-On DVD, Very good, very cheap, save $20. Save money on your mobo and get an 8K3A or 8K3A+ if you want raid. Also look for a bargain vid. card. Ive seen Radeon 8500's one Ebay for $200aud, and they were purchasable at that price (no bidding required)> That would save you wasting money on a new duron (even though it isnt much) and having to upgrade later.
