Thread: USB 2.0 PCMCIA Card

  1. #1

One of my neighbors in the dorm just bought a Plextor external 40x12x48 CDR drive for his laptop. My school leases us laptops, here is the model:

He needs USB 2.0 to use his burner with his laptop. I don't know anything about laptops, should he just buy a PCMCIA USB 2.0 card? Like this one:

Do I need to know anything else about the laptop in order to choose a PCMCIA card? Does that one look okay, since there are a load of those on ebay right now and that price is about $20 US under retail.

Thanks in advance for your help

Yes, unless the laptop doesn't already have USB 2.0 support that is pretty much what you need. Unless you can find a better price or something then go for it. :thumb:
