    Default [email protected] GFX bottleneck

i have an 8800gt that i tried overclocking and all seemed well until i started getting video resets. lowered the clock speeds back to stock and now it still keeps doing it.

im guessing my video card is done for so i will be upgrading. would a ati6850 or 6870 be worth it and see any noticeable fps increase until i upgrade my main components later on this year? will be going with an i5 quad and overclock that puppy too.

the e6300 is overclocked to 3.4ghz at 1.344 vcore. with intel burn test the temps reach 55-56 degrees on full load. will try to go a few mhz higher but i doubt i can do that because the temps rise way too fast. will try though.

prime 95 is overnight stable at 50 degrees max so maybe i can squeeze some more mhz out of it.

you want a better card, either a gtx 460 or a ati 5770,if you playing at high res or want to spend a little bit more go for an ati 6000 card, but newer stuff will be out soon

the gtx 460 is the better card, but the 5770 is cheaper,as for ati 6000 there only slightly better than the 5000 equivalent cards
