Default Want to build a PC with Max resolution of 1680x1050,suggestions?

I have a 22" monitor and would like to build a replacement PC for the one I have now with better performance, probably an i5,3.3 Ghz for simming and photography. I mainly run iRacing and a few other flying sims. Also use it for Photoshop as well.Would like to run Win 7, maybe 64Bit. I saw this outfit for $1000 at Toms hardware:
    MotherBoard- Asus P8P67, AsRock P67 Extreme 4 $152<?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O /><O:P itxtNodeId="27" itxtHarvested="1"></O:P>
    <O:P itxtNodeId="32" itxtHarvested="1"></O:P>
    Processor- Intel Core i5-2500K $220
    3.3 GHz (3.7 GHz Turbo), Quad-Core, 6 MB L3 Cache<O:P itxtNodeId="41" itxtHarvested="1"></O:P>
    <O:P itxtNodeId="46" itxtHarvested="1"></O:P>
CPU Cooler- Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus $30<O:P itxtNodeId="50" itxtHarvested="1"></O:P>
    <O:P itxtNodeId="55" itxtHarvested="1"></O:P>
    Memory- G.Skill Ripjaws 4 GB (2 x 2 GB) 240-Pin DDR3-1333
    Dual-Channel Desktop Memory Kit $55<O:P itxtNodeId="59" itxtHarvested="1"></O:P>
    <O:P itxtNodeId="66" itxtHarvested="1"></O:P>
    Graphics- Gigabyte Radeon HD 6950 2 GB GDDR5 $275<O:P itxtNodeId="71" itxtHarvested="1"></O:P>
    <O:P itxtNodeId="75" itxtHarvested="1"></O:P>
Hard Drive- Samsung Spinpoint 1 TB $65
    1 TB, 7200 RPM, 32 MB Cache SATA 3Gb/s<O:P itxtNodeId="80" itxtHarvested="1"></O:P>

    <O:P itxtNodeId="87" itxtHarvested="1"></O:P>
    Optical- Asus DRW-24B1ST 24x DVD Burner $20<O:P itxtNodeId="94" itxtHarvested="1"></O:P>
    <O:P itxtNodeId="99" itxtHarvested="1"></O:P>
Case- Antec Three Hundred Illusion $65<O:P itxtNodeId="106" itxtHarvested="1"></O:P>
    <O:P itxtNodeId="111" itxtHarvested="1"></O:P>
    Power- Corsair CMPSU-650TX 650 W
    ATX12V, EPS12V, 80 PLUS-Certified $90

Would like to save a few bucks If I could, maybe on the graphics card since I don't need a lot of resolution, I also wanted to transfer some items from my old PC, which is a dual core 2.8Ghz with a 8800GT card, but I'm not sure what the best method would be, especially If I go to a 64 bit rig from my older 32. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can just do a clean install of Windows then plug your old hdd in and swap what files you need onto your new hdd,as for gpu have you looked at gtx 460 or gtx 560?, the spinpoint f3 are good drives take a look at the spinpoint f4 2tb drives too good amount of storage for the price,if your going for 64bit operating system then I would buy 8gb of ram,or 4gb if your installing 32bit os

So If I wanted to go with intel then the I5 would be enough? As far as the Graphics board, the GTX460 looks great, just wasn't sure If it would be a bottleneck though. But seeing the biggest resolution is 1680x1050, are there any places I can save a few dollors without hurting the performance?

The 2500k beats the i7 920/930 and oc's to 5ghz+, either the gtx 460 or the 560 would be fine at that resolution
