Default Best upgrade from GTX 460 point of view?

I currently have a GTX 460 768 Point Of View GFX. Great little overclocked card, but would like to upgrade now.

Any suggestions as to what I should jump up to? Budget of around 200, maybe a little more.

    Thanks in advance

GTX 560 Ti should be good for a 40% increase or more.
Generally the 768MB 460 cards' performance is about 10 - 15% lower than the 460 1GB cards, and the 560 Ti cards have about 25% more performance than the 460 1GB cards. There are now some non-Ti 560 cards that are less expensive, but they are somewhat hardware crippled and their performance will be somewhat lower.
Check out the reviews, you might also want to consider a comparable Radeon 6xxx card.

I think that the HD6950 performance is closest to the GTX 560 Ti.
The 6870 is very good, the 6950 is even better.

    all prices (inc VAT)
    Radeon HD6870 - PCI-E (1120 Cores): 135.22 - 191.22
    Radeon HD6950 - PCI-E (1408 Cores): 185.74 - 222.83

    GTX 560 PCI-E - (336 Cores): 150.67 - 159.07
    GTX 560 Ti PCI-E - (384 Cores): 189.07 - 190.27
How fast do you want to spend?

Pretty fast. But value for money and a significant performance over my 460 is key. Not sure why but I am drawn to the nvidia cards over the radeon. Do the amount of cores make a difference?

How do the 560 ti's compare to the 5870? I picked up a used vapor x model up for 138 on eBay,I think same performance as 6870 only 6870 a little better in dx11

More cores is usually better, but you can't directly compare the Radeon vs Nvidia number of cores.
With cars, the overall performance involves horsepower, suspension, brakes, tires, etc. Each graphics card has many elements that contribute to its overall performance.

No one card excels at everything, and in a direct comparison between two similar cards, one will perform better with some games, and the other will do better with other games. Everyone has their favorite graphics card review sites, I like TechPowerUp and HardOCP the best. I would google:
    • HD 6950 vs GTX 560Ti
    • HD 6870 vs GTX 460

and look at the results from the better review sites to get a feel for which card will best meet your needs now and in the future.

If your motherboard supports SLI, you could keep your current GTX 460 and buy a higher end GTX 460 for an SLI setup. A 460 SLI setup scales nicely, where the combined SLI performance can be up to ~ 75% better than a single 460 card. My MSI N460GTX Hawk is one of the top tier cards and my new MSI N460GTX Hawk Talon Attack is a bit better. On my side of the pond, the top tier 460 cards are selling for nearly the same price as the lower end 560 cards.

What are your specific GFX needs? Gaming, which games? Video encoding? Other?
