Question Help needed with selecting power supply

    Hello
I've come across something i've not done before and hope somebody could help me ;D
I have this ASRock > Products > G41C-GS, when i got this computer it had a power supply
(I've never dealt with Power supplies before, so cant go into much details)
Now my computer is all working and running smoothly and here is the problem
I have 2 plugs connected to my power supply, One for the fan and one for the CD Drive
I have recently added a graphics card into the machine.. and it requires 2 plugs to work at full capacity
The problem is I only have 2 plugs. now i've had 1 plugged into the graphics card and 1 plugged into the fans .. as you see i need 4 plugs
Now i've had a look around and I'm not really sure what I'm looking for so any suggestions or links to websites that sell a power supply with 4 plugs on it would be most appreciated
I have no information about the power supply i currently have, apart from it lacks plugs xD
But i need a good power supply that will run a decent graphics card, fans and a CD drive.. :D
If somebody could point me in the right direction.. :D

    Thanks in advance <3

It sounds like your current power supply doesn't support newer hardware.
    Please post the following information:
    • cpu model number
    • graphics card brand and model number
    • current psu brand and model number

There might be a decal or sticker on the psu that includes the information.
If your system came fully assembled, there should be model information on a sticker on the outside of the computer case.

It looks like your 9600GT requires one 6-pin power connector.
Have you looked closely at the cables that come out of the power supply?
There might be some unused cables that might be tied in a bundle and tucked out of the way.

Even a low power psu needs several cables to power your system, such as:
    • 24-pin cable to power your motherboard
    • 4-pin ATX12V cable that also connects to the motherboard
    • one or more cables, each with several molex connectors to power hard drives, fans, etc.
    • one or more cables for floppy drives
There is a good chance that you already have an unused power cable that can power your video card.
Check out All about the various PC power supply cables and connectors for an excellent power supply tutorial with pictures.

There might be a small sticker on the outside of the computer case that includes the model number of the complete system. The serial number of the system might also be on the sticker. Is there a name brand on the outside of the case?
