    Right, I tried putting my old comp back together and I managed to get it to power up which is better than before but it doesn't post. There is power to the HDD, cd drive and the fans and lights are on but there is nothing happening. I've tried different RAM, gpu and still nothing. I did see a small puff of smoke coming from a little heatsink on the mobo so I took a look and found scorch marks under the heatsink and on top of the chip. In the pic below it is the little black square chip to.the left of the other three.

    Here it is with the heatsink on;

    Will this be what is stopping the whole lot from working?

    Yeah that would be good to see. I got that mobo back from eBay and it fired up no problems but its far bigger than my old MSI board and wont fit into the old case so its in my bitfenix case now. I tell u tho, with vengeance RAM along with a nh-d14 the top of the cooler fans touch the case side door but no bulge in it luckily! Come on the 29th so we can get in about the new chips!

    That looks like a good case for the money. I'm not sure if its a micro atx, its about 2" shorter than the Asus board though. I've just been sent this link;

    Looks like a decent price.... Do u think this would be a winner?
