This is what I have right now.

    ABIT KT7A RAID mobo
AMD DURON 600mhz (overclocked to 1000mhz)
    64mb ram PC133
    20gb HD WD
    VODOO 3 video card
    SOUND BLASTER LIVE sound card

Ok this is what I want to buy.

    ABIT KD7 RAID LAN/DDR 400/USB 2.0 SocketA mobo
AMD Athlon XP 2100+, 266 FSB, 256 Cache
256 MB DDR SDRAM PC2700 333 Mhz (name brand unsure)
    ATI RADEON 9000 4X AGP, W/128DDR
20gb HD (using the old one, buying another one later)
Sound card built into the mobo
    ThermalTake VOLCANO 9 Socket A

Will all this work together? Should I change anything?

    Thanks

If you can afford it, I'd consider the following,

Abit NF7-S mainboard, Nforce2 chipset, onboard Soundstorm audio, AGP 8x, SATA etc
2 x 256mb PC2700 DDR modules (price for DDR memory is dropping at present)
    Nvidia Geforce 4200 128mb 8x graphics card (DX8), or
    ATi Radeon 9500pro 128mb 8x graphics card (DX9).

Personally I'd go for the Nvidia card, their Detonator drivers simply outclass ATi's Catalyst drivers.

    Good luck.

My respect for weta jumped two points with his pick for mobo, and yes, i agree with him. I'd suggest Corsair ram, DDR 3200 C2. And the 2100 does seem to be the currnt AMD/price sweet spot.
