    depending on which MB chipset you end up with - the AMd will probably give you slightly better perfromance for about the same , or slightly less money

    .....probably comes down to your own personal preference - but an Athlon XP2400 on an nForce2 MB looks pretty attractive right now:thumb:

    well i cant say for you but for me i like to get all the performence i can for my $$$
    and one cool thing with the 2400xp and nforce motherboard is go right into the bios and set the fsb to 166 multiplyer to 13.5.
    And you now have a 2600xp chip running at 333fsb so it all comes down to what you like intel or amd

    Well the P4 will overclock like nothing else if thats your thing.
    Performance is pretty much on par with one another and so is the prices.
    Therefore it really is just personal preference for brands.
    The P4 MAY be slightly quieter as the stock HSF is close to silent.
    Thats about the only difference I think anyway.
