    Building PC for sound production/editing.

    Spending $1700 AUD max

needs to be a full sysyem (kb, mouse, monitor)

    thinking:
    p4 1.8-2.0ghz
    at least 512mb ram
excessive HDD space for storing digital music. (100-150GB)
ahhhhh we also want a decent video card :p

so what are the best parts for a system like this
    thanks

I hope ya P4 does better at sound production/editing than mine does at doin' SETI w/u's.

It must be those 2 extra FPU's. :?:

    Sounds like a nice system
On-board gfx tends to slow the system down by giving cycles to the gfx card.
But I doubt you will notice it.
and the sse2 on the P4 will go well at that type of work.
    Killer Rig all up
also Wiggo on another note doesn't the memory bandwidth of p4's make them better at SETI
When AMD takes the cake with in F@H

    anyway
    Cheers nutty
