Hey guys ...as some of you know already i have fried my 2000+. Right now i have, two mobos...a Kt333 and a brand new nForce2.
    I am buying a 1700+ for my AbitKX7 (kt33 board) and i was thinking a 2500+ Barton for the nForce2...

My question is..is it worth it with the Barton or should i still with the 2200+...?

I know about the extra cache and all...but you know...is it worth it..i notice their actual clock is smaller that the orginal XP's...the 2500+ is a 1.8 as well as the 2200+...well guys?

    Thanks:thumb:

IMHO, cache is like gold with some apps. If the price diff doesn't bother you, I'd go with the 2500.

What apps would use the cache...?

So you would prolly perfer the 2500+ over the 2600+?

Any that are predictable to the algorithym that fills the cache: audio and video (using and manipulating, rendering), installers, compression/decompression, etc.. Things like office apps are pretty unpredictable as the user has constant influence on what the next data set will be and the whole data set may fit into a small amount of cache anyway.

It is my personal opinion, but at the moment I think the 2500 is the better value considering price/performance.
