What nForce brand and model would you recommend? i dont need onboard video as im getting Ti4200.

But as i said before the mobo must overclock nicely, not neceserally be good out of box and then not do that good at o/cing.

Im so confused with those nForces:cry:

I've always had good success with EPoX's 8RDA+ (better overclockin' options) though other's will go with ASUS's version (much dearer here and more fussy with the memory used).

The heatsink alone still costs more than the Volcano 7+ here (and I think in NZ the price is likely worse) plus how are ya goin' to mount that particular screamin' 80mm fan on it?
[b]Thermalright's SLK-700, 60mm or 70mm fan, all copper cooler. This cooler supports all processor speeds.

So you saying that EPoX's 8RDA+ is quite cheap?

    What kind of overclocking features?

How well would it go with AMD Athlon Tbred B 1700+.

Im not planning to go high with voltage, just FSB mainly (lower the Mult. 1st and then bring it up after determined the FSB).

    :wow:

EDIT: Just read the review on overklockers.co.nz about it ( i tend to trust that site too ), and apparently its onboard sound is nothing compared to Asus's? I would go for Asus then, becuase im not planning on getting extra sound anyways, i dont care about it unless i have extra moneys to spend on it.
But Asus is just slightly more expensive, but has good sound.

The 8RDA is the cheap version though it misses out on Firewire, LAN and P80P Diagnostic LED though overclocks just as well as the 8RDA+ and both will unlock the CPU so ya can drop the multiplier and raise the FSB plus give ya voltage settings in excess of what's needed by most.

the nForce 2 has the best onboard sound but they are kinda pricey (nForce 2 can decode 5.1 in realtime, just like my SB 5.1 Live! card can) :spam:
