Hello, I just installed the winxp service pack and I also did make it back up my old files.
I was wondering if those backup files were deleted after installing it succesfully, and if not, if it's ok to now delete those files, and if so, would deleting them through win explorer be ok?

Could someone tell me if the files are the ones in:

    C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386

    Thanks in advance.

The files in the C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386 directory will be all the files that were copied when you installed the service pack. I mean, when you install the SP, it needs to copy the new "serviced" files from somewhere, right? Think of it as a .cab (cabinet) directory. So those are the new files. It should be safe to delete, but I would only suggest doing so if you are in need of the hard drive space as those files may be needed for system file checker, or other repair tools.
