I failed to mention, that I was trying all of this just to gain a little extra performance for 1 game. I have decided to uninstall that game, as they are coming out with a new version later this year.

I'll still make notes of all of the excellent help people provided.

i don't think that disabling services on one account will not effect the other account.
services are one thing that will work even if you are not logged on...no matter on one account or another. they start at boot up and are not dependent on logging in by an user.
the programs that start up on logging in are the ones you can disable from msconfig...but i wonder how many programs you have at start up.
anyways best of luck in your quest for more performance :thumb:

They effect ALL profiles or user accounts, I tried that already.

    Thanks,

This was pretty easy back in the days of DO / W4WGs where I had 6 different boot menu options w/ sepaarte autoexec.bat and config.sys sections for network games, office use, regular games, etc.

But nostalgia aside, you could dual boot two two different copies of the OS Put the 2nd copy of that OS on a spearate partition w/ the one game you want it tweaked for.

i wonder why you would do anything like that in first place.
when you are doing all the tweaking and work on an install to make it work faster or with least amount of stuff running then why not just stick with it?
i mean even when you are not playing a game and rather working on a word processor...will it hurt to have a smoothly running PC?
this having two installs or two account theory is out of my understanding but then i could be wrong
