I brought it into the computer shop and they installed a new MOBO and formatted the HD. SO everything is new again. i was just doing some minor things on it today and it starded freezing up again.

Has this problem ever been solved?

I ask because I have the exact same problem, but have been unable to figure it out (it's been bugging me for months). I've tried reformatting, uninstalling various programs, checked for viruses, etc, but have not been able to solve this problem. The only thing I can think is it may be heat related, although I'm unsure.

Any more input? I realize this thread is old...but the topic is unfortunately very fresh. :(
